Broadcast

This is a blog post I did for our church staff blog at http://crossviewconnect.com. I figure this way I can get a little bit more mileage for my efforts. Cheap? Yes! Do I care? Nope.

You may or may not have heard our student ministry's new name, BROADCAST. With the new name comes a new identity and a fresh perspective on what God is wanting to do with students in Rockmart.

The name is simple, we want to "broadcast" the name of Jesus to the world. Starting in our own community and branching out from there. This idea is directly linked to our church's vision to reach the unchurched and lead them to become fully devoted followers of Christ.

What this means...

  • It means that the time is NOW! Spread the word, Crossview is the place for students (and their families)!
  • It means that we have to be ready to build relationships with students who come to us broken and hurting, looking for a place to belong.
  • It means that the enemy is TICKED OFF because he knows what's going to happen when Christ gets a hold of students!

What you can do...

  • PRAY! I can't say this enough. We are getting ready to wage a serious war against Satan, he will destroy us without God's people praying for God's protection.
  • Serve. We're going to be putting together a team of "Youth Guides" that will be called and trained to build relationships with students.
  • Give. Our church family has a goal to raise $10,000 this Christmas season. Ministry takes money, that's just the way it is. Youth Ministry takes money, if we invest in our students it will pay off now AND in the years to come.

We're getting ready for the January 14th Launch Party. God's about to do AMAZING things in this city, I'm so pumped to be a part of it and I hope you are too!

We pray for you and Crissy as you lead and all the students will get a clear "signal" from God. Greater is HE!!!

So today I went through a TON of old email, sorting out the junk and organizing what was left. I tend to be a bit of a digital packrat . How Much More?

So I came across this video while looking for some new church media stuff. And it got me thinking, "If a car company is willing to invest this kind of time and money into promoting their product, how much more should the church be investing in promoting the message of Christ to the world?"
